Queensland Museum South Bank to re-open 20 January

Queensland Museum South Bank will re-open on 20 January 2012 following major renovations for its 150th birthday.

The $14.3 million refurbishment program is being undertaken in conjunction with maintenance works and will enhance access for visitors with a new light-filled entry space on Grey Street, a new internal lift, replacement of escalators and new stairs between gallery levels.

The flood damaged Energex Playasaurus Place will be back with a roar when the museum reopens.

Queensland Museum’s three other campuses – the Workshops Rail Museum in Ipswich, Cobb+Co Museum in Toowoomba and the Museum of Tropical Queensland in Townsville are unaffected by the temporary closure and will continue to provide visitors an engaging experience.

For more information on Queensland Museum South Bank visit the website at www.southbank.qm.qld.gov.au or call the Inquiry Centre on 07 3840 7555.
